Spring is just around the corner and we have a series of exciting workshops inspired by nature and exploring fresh ways of working with clay.
For the first of our Spring series of workshops we are delighted to be collaborating with florist Rachel Grimes to make unique sculptural vessels that you will use to create a stunning floral display.
Stoneware vessels for Ikebana Saturday 26th March 10am to 4.00pm &
Saturday 23rd April 10am to 1pm
£160 for both days including all materials, firing, flowers and refreshments
Inspired by the sculpture of Isamu Noguchi, whose retrospective exhibition was recently shown at the Barbican. We will use a combination of extrusions, slabs and pre-thrown elements in the lovely white stoneware Ashraf Hanna clay body, to create sculptural vessels that experiment with balance and structure, light and shadow. The sculptural vessels we create will then be used in the second workshop as the support and container for your Ikebana inspired floral arrangement using locally grown and in-season flowers, blossom, foliage and branches.
